Possibly the most flexible airlift aircraft to enter the Air Force inventory since the C-130 Hercules, the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is used for rapid strategic airlift of troops and cargo to main operating bases or forward operating bases throughout the world; it can also perform tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop missions.
It is used by the United States Air Force, Royal Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, the Canadian Forces Air Command, and the Qatar Emiri Air Force.
