MERLIN

The Merlin is the latest heavy lift support helicopter to be added to the inventory of the Royal Air Force. It has recieved much press coverage recently as it will soon see action in Afghanistan. It is able to carry two dozen fully equipped combat troops and, no doubt it will also be used in the casualty evacuation role. The Merlin is flown by 78 and 28(AC) Squadrons at RAF Benson.
